The 1.6 is very economical (fuel wise), however it does have a few "issues", a well looked after one with excellent history and frequent oil changes is absolutly imperative. the 2.0 is a stronger engine, but the tax would be more.

I can't tell you if it was the 90 or 100 I had but I can tell you it averaged over 62MPG (Brim to Brim, not computer) over 600 miles.
hey guys i get my peugeot 308 e-hdi 2013 all fine but there is a message coming at startup state of the car "Engine fault: Repair needed" and after eco deactivated. no engine light stays. the only sign i get is above the trip distance i make a triangle with ! inside.

I have had problems with the rather thin wires wearing through on the plastic conduit. May be worth stripping some of the conduit off, and tugging on

The 2nd slightly more worrying issue was an oil leak from the air pipe which runs from the turbo to the intercooler - at the join between the turbo and said pipe. Of course this seemed initially like it could be a somewhat tragic and expensive occurrence but.. upon removing the various air pipes it seems the oil is coming from the crankcase
